howdoessolarwork.com is an educational site that helps Connecticut homeowners understand their electric bill and check whether their home may be a fit for solar. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. We keep it simple because the site is simple.

When you fill out the qualification form, we collect the information you give us:

• Your home address
• Your phone number and email address
• Your average monthly electric bill and utility company

We also collect basic technical data automatically (such as your IP address and anonymous, privacy-friendly usage analytics) to keep the site working and understand what's useful.

Why we collect it

To evaluate whether your home may qualify for solar and to contact you about it. That's the only reason.

Who we share it with

To prepare your estimate and follow up with you, we share the information you submit with a licensed solar provider we work with. We also use trusted service providers to operate the site — Google Firebase (secure data storage), Pushover (notifications), and Vercel (hosting and analytics). We do not sell your personal information.

Contact consent

By submitting the form and checking the consent box, you agree that we and the licensed solar provider we work with may contact you by phone call, text message, and email — including with automated technology — about solar. Consent is not a condition of any purchase, and message/data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time: reply STOP to any text, or email us at the address below.

Your choices

You can ask us to access or delete the information you submitted at any time. Just email dave@howdoessolarwork.com and we'll take care of it.
